ReplyDeleteOh man - This was such a fun show! I remember there was rain through the first set, which finally let up with a rainbow over the amphitheater during Good Lovin' - It doesn't take much to get folks in Hotlanta crazy, but the rainbow Good Lovin' vibes really sent the place into a groovy high-energy dimension for the rest of the evening. God, I can't believe this was 16 years ago. If I could go back to then knowing what I know now, this night would be exactly the same. The recordings probably don't do it any justice.
ReplyDeleteAnd Robert Hunter himself came out and played a mini-set between sets. Great to hear the master himself singing Box of Rain, Keys to the Rain, Ripple, and Boys in the Barroom! What a sunshine daydream.
