Phish - BLAZE ON (Compilation)
Here is a best of Summer 2015 compilation compiled and edited by a phellow blog member. Nice seamless transitions from track-to-track. Nice work Matt.
Thanks so much; this was a very different sort of tour for me; I miss the incredible and revolutionary sounds of the earlier, emotion clashing lyrics and soundscapes of 92,96-99...THose lyrics that integrated Prince Caspian, Theme from the Bottom, The Curtain With, Maze, Horn,.......And I will give the first Negatory response, as I've experienced it 'up-front' and during pack-up w my crew Brother...the Light thing has become a distraction; I would suggest, that for a 1/1,000 the price, they could do better light effects as are being done on a shoestring budget by Ozric Tentacles. But the Blasts of WHITE LIGHT do nothing, to _me_, but destract and ignore;
Give that, there were, as in Every tour, magic Movements, and I'm sure I missed many. But what they are leaving behind, their legacy..is their meta-Beatles transpositions, of poetic emotions, and butt-shaking total feeling like 'I'm not being observed by the real or Private SS". This writing is going downhill,and Trey is DOMINATING innordinently.
I don't EVER wanna see them to become a Corporation -level group, with all the dissonant vibes that go with it.
It is is therefore, so acutely sharp of 'someone' to purify the season to a best-of...because they might could support 2 more best-of HIGHLY prizable. The Peaks and shenagans we wanna remember, when they remember who they were and still are; the penultimate expression of musical evolution of this last 30 years (WSP would have given them a serious run, if Mikey had not ben struck down, in body' Even Greg has come back to help rescue the booty-shaking blues exctasy movement.
Thank you guys; you are intrgral to the millenials, who need even a recreation, esp SOOO Hq) of the group that transcends any group, that are far more prolific, and certainly more _real_, than Miles D, ...nobody since Hendrix,
If you all get a chance (and I have not completely) try to get hold of the first 3 albums of Fairport Convention and early Pentangle; the Edward Albey's of the Old Farire Forrests and magic landscapes.
Of course Much of YES' singular peaks make a symphonic sound that challenges phish musically (times being equal), but they could not make shows 'Conjuringnga'...Totally Virgin annd Original yetw/o attitude night after Night after......

Jacksonville Piper?...... great mix awesome job AS usual. Not a complaint, but definitely worth the listen.
