Still one of my favorite post-Jerry shows of all time. Great recording, deep jamming, and Greg Osby contributes to a truly electric atmosphere.
ReplyDeletecan anyone find video footage?
ReplyDeleteOut of the 75-100 shows I have seen since 1988 this is probably the best. Jimmy Herring was really stepping forward with fantastic lead guitar. Everyone was on their game, Osby was ethereal, and the whole show fantastic. Until the end ... when Phil got sick of playing or something and shut it down by forcing a change out of Help-Slip-Frank into Trucking then leaving. Bobby turned around and gave Phil a big WTF?! Kind of a big perfect metaphor for post-Jerry Dead.
